TRC20 USDT runs on TRON; ERC20 USDT runs on Ethereum. The ticker is the same, but the networks are not interchangeable. Choose a route supported by both your sending wallet and the casino's exact deposit instructions, then compare the full fees rather than assuming one network is always cheaper.
What changes when you choose the network
Tether publishes its supported protocols and token contracts. Those identify the issuer's token deployments, but they do not establish that a particular casino accepts every deployment. The cashier's network selector is the relevant receiving instruction.
A network selection is not a currency-conversion label. Sending Ethereum USDT to a TRON-only deposit route will not become TRON USDT automatically.

Compare the total cost, not just gas
A self-custody transfer pays the network's resource cost. An exchange can instead quote its own withdrawal fee, which may differ from the actual on-chain cost. A casino may add a separate withdrawal charge or minimum.
For an illustrative $50 transfer, a $1 sending fee consumes 2% and a $5 fee consumes 10%, before any receiving fee. These are arithmetic examples, not current network quotes. Check the live total in your own wallet before authorising.
Why a USDT balance may not be enough to send
Holding tokens does not necessarily supply the network resources needed to transfer them. An Ethereum wallet normally needs ETH for gas. TRON transactions use its resource model, and a wallet may need TRX when available resources do not cover the transaction.
An exchange may handle these mechanics and deduct a quoted withdrawal fee. Do not infer that the same funding arrangement works in a self-custody wallet. Follow that wallet's actual fee preview rather than sending random amounts to an address supplied by a stranger.
A four-part deposit match
Match the asset, network, recipient address and token contract. Where a memo or tag is requested, include it exactly. Copy instructions from the authenticated cashier and re-check the final destination after pasting; clipboard substitution can change an address.
If a test transfer is appropriate, it must still meet the minimum and fee rules. A tiny amount below the minimum can fail to credit and does not provide a useful compatibility test.

Stable value does not mean no risk
